In Significance - Interpretation E.P. Review I_s_l10

Daleville, Alabama metallers In Significance are here to represent their unique brand of southern-fried metal. Featuring the talents of Corey Reynolds on vocals, Brian Butterworth on guitars, and Lance Hobbs on drums for the recording, and adding Sam Williams on guitars, and Craig Buehl II on bass for live performances and future recordings. The musicianship and songwriting presented by this band is truly top notch, and the production on the disc is top quality as well. Interpretation is a seven song vortex of anarchy that often leaves the listener in sonic ecstacy! Track one on the disc is Cruel and Usual and it is anything but cruel or usual. The song begins with some excellent acoustic passages before delivering the listener into the pit. Very tight performances helps to ring in the off-time rhythms and tie them back into the song. Then bring in Corey. Excellent vocal style and range going from clean, to raspy,to scream, and then growl. Lances drumming on this and throughout the disc is phenomenal! Track two, Under the Church begins with an awesome harmony, and breaks into some really good groove riffing before breaking into a melodic breakdown a la In Flames. Track three is Bigger Picture and again grabs the listener by the short and curlies from the get-go! More melodic riffing mixed with rifling, drum-induced stop riffs makes this a whiplash causing monolith of metal. Dust and Echoes follows and continues the assault with more great musicianship and that middle section that is just hypnotizing! Track five is Pursuit and is a very nice, darkly melonchic song, even during the fast sections. I absolutely love the vibe on this tune! Next is I Remain which leaves no doubt to that fact. A very hook-laden song with great lyrics makes this track stand out from the rest which is not an easy task to accomplish! The final track on the album is Rise and Fall of a king and is the perfect choice to outro the disc. Heavy hitting, and even thrashy at times keeps the fists pounding hard! The complete track listing for Interpretation is:

1. Cruel and Usual
2. Under the Church
3. Bigger Picture
4. Dust and Echoes
5. Pursuit
6. I Remain
7. Rise and Fall of a King

This is yet another hidden treasure that deserves alot more recognition! Pro-level musicianship, songwriting, and subject matter make this one hell of a metal machine. Check them out folks, you will not regret it!
