The album starts off with the song My Cold Dead Hands, and is a soundboard for 2nd amendment supporters. The soundclip at the beginning with Charleton Heston speaking is fitting to say the least! This song is a testimony for the violence yet to come. Your Worst Enemy is the second track, and begins with some awesome bass by Cody, then throws the listener into the pit. Frenzied riffs, anger filled lyrics, everything a thrasher wants! Your Worst Enemy slams non-stop from beginning to end. Track three is the first single off the album titled The Fear Within. Originally on the demo for Heroes of Origin, I often wondered why this song wasn’t released on that album, but with the way it’s been updated, I can see why they waited! Epic guitar work opens the song, creating a melancholic soundscape, which leads into a thrashing frenzy. The song slows midway with some nicely played acoustic guitar work, and Souza singing cleanly that leads the listener into Kosta’s virtuoso solo. Standing ovation guys! The mania continues with track four titled Honor in the Rise and Fall which is based on the T.V. show Spartacus, and brings the listener through the trials and tribulations of slavery, gladiatorial combat, and death. This is a very melodically brutal song, with a fast paced tempo keeping the Hatriot train on a collision course with your senses. Superkillafragsadisticactsaresoatrocious is next on the list, and displays Zetros nack for penning whimsical, yet socially viable titles. Say that name three times in a row, I dare you! This tune is a treatise on the abuse of power through control, namely censorship, and this listener loves the “free pussyriot” gang vocal at the end! Silence in the House of the Lord is track five on the album, and is about a topic that this listener believes the need to be recognized is paramount. The topic of this tune is about sexual abuse by priests and the injustice to the victims. Zetro tackles the tough issues without hesitation, and presents his case with full fury! Again, kudo’s bro…thank you for taking up for the victims! World Funeral follows next, and what a juggernaut of a tune! This song speaks volumes about the planets diminishing resources, and corporate greed. Track eight is the title track of the album, Dawn of the New Centurion, and friends this song kills from start to finish. It has a very mesmerizing riff that throws the listener into the uber-heaviness that is Hatriot. The final song on the album, Consolation for the Insane is an interesting twist on how crazy the world is now, yet everyone is supposedly sane. This another neck breaker of a song, and I love the ideology behind the lyrics, and how Zetro presents his case very cleverly.

Dawn of the new Centurion is a huge step in the right direction for the evolution of Hatriot, and continues the legacy that Zetro began so long ago. The album is chock full of top notch musicianship, great song writing, topics that need to be addressed, and break your neck thrash, with nods to the old school, yet contemporary in its delivery. Friends, when this Dawn of the New Centurion drops you need to have it in your collection as this listener feels it will be a classic. With the release of Dawn of the New Centurion, Hatriot makes a statement that they are the warriors of metal, and it’s nice knowing that with music like this, the metal world will be safe for years to come!
