Asylum - Technical Death Metal (Fort Worth, TX)
BIOGRAPHY
Somewhere deep within the frozen mist of an early February in 2012, a restless energy was building in the minds of four young musicians from Fort Worth, TX. These aspiring metal heads shared a collective interest in technical death metal and, following a few jam sessions, ASYLUM was formed - originally comprised of members Jonathan Hatley, Colby Rodgers, Trevor Swanson, and Nick Willson.
A few homemade recordings were made and distributed before Swanson and Willson departed to pursue other interests. Immediately after, Hatley and Rodgers met up with bassist James Maddry and drummer Christian Maddry, (twin brothers). Trey Hepfer later joined the band as a second guitarist.

This group eventually became the permanent ASYLUM lineup, producing maniacally dark melodies and crushing rhythms, coupled with haunting lyrical depictions of psychosis, mental diseases, and ultimately submission to the mind’s own power.
With intentions of “committing” every metal fan in the world while showing no signs of slowing down, ASYLUM creatively embodies a transcendental journey through the realm over which our subconscious ultimately reigns.
